About AJ - Ten months

Amelia Jayne turned 10 months old on Friday, August 24. She's growing so quickly!!

Here are some of the things she's up to this month.

She's cruising everywhere. She holds on to her table toys, the coffee table, the footstool, chairs, anything that's tall enough for her to stand and hold on to, and she walks around and around. She pulls up on everything, too. She wants to be upright these days, though her preferred way to get around is still crawling. She's fast, too!

We had a playdate with a couple of different friends this week and she just loved them! She interacts with them, shares kisses, and gets so excited when she's around other kids. It's so precious!

She especially loved being around her cousins a couple of weeks ago at the beach. They're all kids ranging from 4 - 15 and they doted on her and loved on her so much. She just ate up all the attention!

She doesn't like to wear dresses anymore. Now that she's crawling (everywhere!) it slows her down too much and she gets very frustrated. I'm a little sad because I just love to put her in little dresses! But I won't wish this time to pass because before long she'll be walking and running!

She had her first bout with diaper rash this past week. I believe she's teething again, soon to gain two more teeth on the bottom. That will give her a total of eight teeth. She doesn't have them yet, so she  has a total of six teeth right now.

Her new favorite food is blueberries! I cut them in half and she picks them up and eats them all by herself. She is so funny about them because she just scrunches up her little nose with joy and pops them in her mouth. She is getting better with textures. I've realized that she doesn't have nearly the problems with textures that I thought she has - she's just kind of picky about what she eats!

She and Xander have come to a few impasses lately. He feels like he needs to be her parent or "the boss" lately and he'll take things away from her or knock her down to make sure she doesn't do what she's "not supposed to do." I've had to really watch the two of them together since Xander gets far too rough with her than I would like. Sometimes she doesn't mind when he wrestles with her or tickles her roughly, but she does not like for him to snatch things out of her hands. That being said, you can imagine how many conversations about sharing, taking care of yourself, and keeping your hands to yourself that have gone on at the Little house. :)

She says "uh oh" now! I tried to get a video a couple of weeks ago at Mimi's house. She started to say it at the beginning of the video, but stopped and got fussy as soon as she saw me.

She's such a joy! She sleeps well, eats well (except when she wants to be picky), nurses well, is fairly easy-going and just does whatever we ask of her. If she doesn't get a nap, she'll just wait and get it later or she might just go to bed early. I love that baby girl!

For the past 10 months I've been using the same bow and this is the first time I've ever had a hard time with her pulling it off! I could barely get a picture without her tugging at it.
